"Professional Recruiters to Speak on Employment at Higher Education for the
Asian-American Community Symposium" (HEAACS)

In an ideal world, college seniors move straight to dream jobs right after
graduation. In the real world, astute students and employers must optimize
the search by leveraging their opportunities to meet. One such opportunity,
to which all interested individuals are invited, is Recruiting Students into
Public/Private Sectors, one of three panels offered at the Asian American
Chamber of Commerce's upcoming special symposium for area employers and
Asian-American students.

The Recruiting panel, which was designed to appeal to both employers and job
seekers who attend the symposium, will feature government and the private
sector recruiters who routinely seek strong students and other entry-level
professionals for career-quality positions as they address job seekers'
concerns:

   * What are employers in the various sectors - government, technology,
government contracting, professional services (accountants, etc) - currently
looking for in candidates?
      * Professional, educational credentials? Skill sets?
      * Behaviors? Communication abilities?
   * What in a resume will catch a recruiter's attention?
   * What will make the recruiter/hiring manager want to interview the
candidate?
   * What behaviors during the interview will bring positive results?

Among our speakers:

• Mark Mitsui, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Community Colleges in the
Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE)-U.S. DEPT OF
EDUCATION
• Asunción Sanz, President, Context In Culture, LLC
• Jamarr H., CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY
• John Hough, Vice President for Community Relations at American Public
University System (APUS)
• Lindy Ybarra, International Agent Relationship Liaison, APUS
• Alan Luba, Owner and Principal Consultant, Human Resources
Consultants LLC
• Robert F. Grimsland, Vice President of Programs, Stellarpeak Corp.
• Bob Meixner, Recruiting Consultant

This fast-paced, three-panel Symposium will take place on Wednesday, July 29,
2015, 8:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. at the DTZ Conference Center, 8300 Boone Blvd,
Tysons Corner, VA 22182
