POSITION QUALIFICATION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Global Analytics and R&D Productivity
Research, you will manage a team of engineers who develop and deploy data
visualization & advanced analytical solutions to deliver business value to
all Praxair business units. This will include our regional operations and
business teams as well as the corporate Global Operations Excellence and
R&D teams. The goal is to support our global efforts to develop digital
business transformations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Evaluate and prioritize all incoming requests; effectively manage
all tasks, deliverables and project milestones.
• Work closely with the business units to identify opportunities to
leverage advanced analytics.
• Provide project oversight, technical support and development
coaching to the team members.
• Perform advanced quantitative and statistical analysis of large
datasets to generate insights and turn information into actionable
recommendations.
• Bea subject matter expert and trusted advisor in the analytics
discipline.
• Develop presentations to summarize and communicate key messages to
senior management.
• Actively contribute to the continuous learning mindset of the
organization by bringing in new ideas and perspectives that stretch the
thinking of the group.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic:
• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Engineering (or related discipline).
• 5 or more years’ of relevant industry experience in implementing
analytical solutions for process improvement.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time (domestic and
international).
• 3 years of experience managing a team towards a common goal.
                         
                         
Preferred:
• Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering preferred.
• Hands-on experience with predictive modeling, machine learning,
data mining, and optimization algorithms.
• Strong working knowledge of statistics, computer science and
programming.
• Expert-level abilities in at least one of the following: Tableau,
Matlab, SQL, R, or other statistical / database software.
• 5 or more years of experience in industrial gas business.
• 5+ years of managing experience.
