Subject: Reaching out to UMD's science community

Description:
I am reaching out to you to help us inform UMD students in science about the
many opportunities at the AAAS Annual Meeting, especially since the 2016
meeting is happening in DC this year (Woodley Park, February 11-15). The
meeting is a widely-recognized global science gathering with renowned
speakers, interdisciplinary panels discussing recent research, and numerous
networking opportunities.

Students can attend the meeting for free if they volunteer as a session aide
for 8 hours (or the student rate is $70 until January 19). If they volunteer
16 hours, they receive a one-year membership to AAAS and digital version of
Science. There’s also the Student Poster Competition, where undergraduate
and graduate students share their research and get feedback from meeting
attendees.

More information about the meeting can be found on our website.
