A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available in the School of 
Chemical Engineering, The University of New South Wales (UNSW Australia) 
Sydney, Australia.

Salary: AUD$86K-92K plus 9.5% superannuation and annual leave loading 

This is a full-time fixed term position for 1 year, with possibility of 
extension for a further 12 months. 

The Process Control Group in School of Chemical Engineering is recruiting a 
Postdoctoral Research Fellow to carry out scientific research on an 
Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Project on "Integrated Approach 
to Plantwide Fault Diagnosis and Fault-tolerant Control" (DP160101810). The 
work will be supervised by Prof. Jie Bao. 

The postdoctoral associate fellow is expected to undertake the development 
on a new integrated approach to plantwide fault diagnosis and distributed 
fault-tolerant control, based on the dissipativity theory and co-supervise 
postgraduate and honours thesis students who work on this project. They 
will work with the Process Control Group in the School of Chemical 
Engineering.

The successful applicant should have a PhD in Engineering or Mathematics 
with strong mathematical skills and a solid track record of research 
publications. They will also have good knowledge of and research experience 
with process control and modern control theories as well as fault detection 
and diagnosis and/or fault tolerant control, with solid track record of 
research publications. The role also requires someone with excellent oral 
and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to work 
independently and effectively and also as part of a research team.
