Subject: Mental Health Open Mic Night
UAID invites you to an open mic night dedicated to providing an accepting
environment for individuals curious about, affected by, or suffering from
mental health disorders. Maintaining proper mental health is something that
we all face when dealing with the responsibilities of college. An act as
simple as sharing a soothing song can have major benefits for those around
who may be struggling. This is why we welcome you to prepare songs, dances,
skits, poems, or anecdotes that you can share about this topic.
We understand that mental health is a difficult aspect of health to reveal to
others due to common social taboos. By hosting this event, UAID hopes to
promote understanding of mental health disorders and dispel views that they
are signs of personal weakness.
