The Sustainable and Resilient Economy (SRE) program at The Ohio State
University has an opening for a post-doctoral research fellow to perform
interdisciplinary work on the dynamics and control of sustainable and
resilient systems. The appointee will have the opportunity to develop
quantitative modeling skills and knowledge, while taking a substantive
role in cutting-edge research on developing new sustainability and
resilience assessment methods.

The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. degree in Sustainable Engineering
or a related field and a demonstrated ability to perform
interdisciplinary research at the interface of engineering,
environmental sciences, human behavior and policy. Research skills in
areas such as dynamics and control of technological, ecological, and
economic systems, life cycle assessment, and applied statistics are most
desirable. The ability and willingness to learn new subject matter and
work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment are
essential. The initial appointment will be for up to two years with the
possibility of renewal.

The candidate’s work will be directed by Dr. Bhavik Bakshi, Professor of
Chemical and
Biomolecular Engineering, as well as additional members of a
multidisciplinary research team that includes engineers, economists,
behavioral scientists, and environmental scientists. The candidate will
join a vibrant and growing community of scholars at OSU who are
developing new integrated assessment methods to guide practical
solutions that enhance the efficiency of material and energy inputs,
reduce adverse environmental and social impacts, and protect critical
ecosystem services.

Interested candidates should forward their letter of application, CV and
names of three references to Melissa Amos ([log in to unmask]), SRE
Program Coordinator.
