Lab Research Technician
DEPARTMENT: Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics
STARTING SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
ADDITIONAL SALARY INFO: Full-time, contractual, benefits eligible.
DUTIES: The Technician will assist with research into bacterial pathogenesis
and
vaccine development under the supervision of the PI, including
experimentation, data
analysis, animal studies, troubleshooting and preparation of data for
publication. In
addition, the Technician will perform a variety of functions vital for the
day-to- day
operation of the laboratory, including: ordering supplies, tracking lab
expenses,
overseeing maintenance of equipment, and organizing lab materials.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have a strong science background, with
either a
B.S. degree (preferably in biology, microbiology, cell biology, biochemistry,
or
chemistry) or an M.S. degree (research based). Previous experience with
molecular
biology techniques, work with laboratory animals, and/or biochemical
techniques would
be a plus, but enthusiasm and organizational skills are more important.
Extensive
training will be provided.
