Job Role Summary

ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company’s Corporate Strategic Research
(CSR) laboratory has an immediate opening for a full-time staff position in
the area of machine learning in our Data Analytics and Optimization Section.
 Our facilities are centrally located in scenic Annandale, New Jersey,
approximately one hour from both New York City and Philadelphia.  The
successful candidate will join a dynamic group of scientists performing
breakthrough research for the Corporation, developing new scientific
approaches and innovative solutions using state-of-the-art clusters and GPU
machines.

Job Role Responsibilities

We are seeking a talented and creative individual to conduct fundamental
research in machine learning and pattern recognition.  This researcher will
seek solutions for a multitude of challenges involving large-scale physics,
chemistry, geophysics and engineering data sets and models.  Research will
include developing deep neural networks for pattern recognition and gaining
insights from data, reinforcement learning for optimization applications, etc.

Job Requirements

The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, or a
related scientific discipline.

Expected Level of Proficiency

The candidate should have solid training in math and strong programing
skills with experience in machine learning, signal processing, control, etc.
 Knowledge and experience in solving challenging engineering/science
problems and high performance computing, such as GPU computing, is highly
desirable.  The candidate is expected to have strong communications skills
and the ability to interact with research and business partners in various
disciplines.  The candidate should have the desire to grow into new
technical areas and learn new skills.
