As we come to the end of the semester, we are getting ready for another
year in The American Nuclear Society UMD Student Section
<http://radiation.umd.edu/educollab/ansstudent> by electing the 2018-2019
Executive Board. Many of our current officers are graduating, and all
positions are open, see below for position descriptions.

   - The *President* shall preside at meetings, plan events (academic
lectures, social events, outreach events), and ensure the success of the
organization through recruitment, advertising, and activity with the
   collaboration of the Executive Board.
   - The *Vice-President* shall perform the duties of the President in the
President's absence or when the President is unable to serve, and perform
other such duties as may be delegated by the Executive Board.
   - The *Communications Officer* shall keep a record of the proceedings of
the Section and shall have such other duties as may be assigned by the
Executive Board. In the absence of the President and Vice President, the
Communications Officer shall preside at the meetings of the Section.
   - The *Treasurer* shall collect, disburse, and deposit funds, and handle
the financial accounting. The Treasurer shall also have such other duties
as may be assigned the office by the Executive Board. In the absence of the
other officers, the Treasurer shall preside at meetings of the Section.

Being an officer of ANS is a great way to gain critical leadership skills,
get involved with the nuclear community, expand your much needed network,
and have lots of fun.

If you would like to run for office, please join us for our election
meeting this *Wednesday, May 9th, from 3:30-4:30pm in Room 2337 of the
Chemical & Nuclear Engineering Building*. We'll have snacks available, and
celebrate the closing of another year with ANS.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
Sarah Monk
UMD ANS President
