Subject: Student Research Assistant Position, USDA

Description:
A nutrition database group seeks a Student Research Assistant. Tasks include
1) data entry and auditing of commercial dietary supplement product
information; 2) compiling data for reports using Excel and Access; 3)
data analysis and graphing; 4) documenting sample records; and 5) processing
dietary
supplement samples for shipment. The tasks performed will support researchers
investigating the ingredient content and performance quality testing (off
site) of dietary supplements.  This project is NIH funded and on site at the
US Department of Agriculture in Beltsville, MD.  Student employees are hired
through the University of Maryland.

Position Requirements: A current sophomore or junior at the University of
Maryland, majoring in science, Information Technology or a related field.
This position requires logical thinking and organizational skills and the
ability to accurately record and analyze data. Strong experience using
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), interest in research studies,
data analysis, and excellent attention to detail are required.  Experience
with Microsoft Access is preferred.

This student position is 10 hours per week during the school semesters and up
to
40 hours in the summer.
