HJF is seeking Research Associate III to support the Preventive Medicine and
Biostatistics (PBM) Department located at the Uniformed Services University
(USU) in Bethesda, Maryland. HJF provides scientific, technical and
programmatic support services to PMB.
The incumbent will be a research associate on a biomarker project related to
traumatic brain injury / post-traumatic headaches. Participates in analysis
of data and manuscript preparation. Position can be full-time or part-time.
Responsibilities:
Determines and applies optimal statistical analysis tools required.
Conducts statistical analysis of study data under the supervision of the
principal investigator.
Writes and edits data results for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Responsible for coordinating with publishers to publish findings.
Understands and maintains data integrity procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Good communication and analytical
skills. Familiarity with at least one statistical software package.
Familiarity with basic descriptive statistics and regression models.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Master's degree or equivalent
experience in a relevant area (epidemiology, statistics, data science,
informatics, etc.).
Minimum Experience: 4 to 6 years directly related research experience.
Physical Capabilities: Requires long periods of sitting and standing.
Work Environment: Office environment.
Background: Eligibility to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC); eligibility to
obtain and hold a Public Trust background.
