Laboratory Research Technician Position Available

Our laboratory studies the cell and molecular mechanisms of cell-cell
interactions, ciliary signaling, and cell-cell fusion using the unicellular,
bi-ciliated green alga, Chlamydomonas reinhardtii as a model system. Because
cilia are present on almost every cell in humans, our findings on ciliary
signaling have direct implications for understanding human diseases,
including polycystic kidney disease, polydactyly, and basal cell carcinoma.
Our research on sexual reproduction in Chlamydomonas has helped us uncover a
new candidate for a transmission blocking malaria vaccine and identified a
molecular relationship between viral infection mechanisms and sperm-egg
fusion. We are looking for a self-motivated, recent graduate with a B.S.
degree in microbiology, biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or a related
area to join our laboratory to assist with experiments and with day-to-day
operation of the laboratory.
