Description:
ICMD is a laboratory (located close to campus) seeking a part-time weekend
molecular technician for patient specimen testing. Shifts may be anywhere
from 4-8 hours long, depending on volume and will be daytime hours.
Experience in a lab setting and with use of lab equipment is preferred.
Willing to train a qualified and motivated applicant. Only one position is
available at this time.

General Duties Assigned involve analysis of clinical samples, including but
not limited to: various molecular assays, PCR, data analysis, assay result
interpretation, and proper maintenance and management of laboratory records.
Will also participate in quality control/quality assurance activities and
general lab duties such as reagent lot validation and inventory management.
ICMD operates in compliance with CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act)
standards and is inspected by the CAP (College of American Pathologists).

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in a biological, health or
social science or a directly related field from an accredited institution
required.

Must be able to: Lift, push, and/or pull up to 20 lbs. Work in an environment
that may expose you to fumes, chemicals, extreme cold, blood/body fluids, and
infectious disease. Frequently wash your hands (biohazardous materials may be
present). Sit and stand for long periods of time, frequently walk, and
bend/stoop, as well as execute repetitive motions. Work with complex and
sharp laboratory equipment, and various chemical and biological solutions.
Wear appropriate safety equipment when handling biological samples and
hazardous chemicals. Must be able to work independently.
