Subject: Undergraduate RA positions
Description:
The Computational Cognitive Neuroscience & Psychiatry Lab
(https://solwaylab.org) is recruiting undergraduate research assistants for
Fall 2022. The lab's research focuses on understanding information
processing in human learning, decision making, and episodic memory
using computational modeling and machine learning tools. Your experience in
the lab will give you a taste of what real research is like and help prepare
you for postbac and graduate school applications.
Requirements - please read!
We are an interdisciplinary lab and welcome students from all majors,
including psychology, neuroscience, computer science, bioengineering,
biology, and others.
You must have experience either with basic inferential statistics (e.g.
linear regression) *or* machine learning algorithms used for prediction (e.g.
decision trees).
You must have experience with at least one programming environment used in
modern data analysis either through coursework or through projects completed
outside of class, such as Python, R, or Matlab.
You must participate in this research experience for credit by enrolling in
three hours of PSYC 479 - Special Research in Psychology. Procedures for
enrollment (if you are accepted into the lab) can be
found here (https://psyc.umd.edu/sites/psyc.umd.edu/files/syllabi/479%20Application%20Updated.pdf).
