* WIN * a share of up to $5,000 in prizes! This will include a $2,500
first-place award, $1,500 second-place award, and a $1,000 third-place award.
The challenge is open to teams of 2-4 undergraduate students.
* LEARN * about ethical principles in artificial intelligence (AI) and
machine learning (ML). Northrop Grumman will provide some resources for
research into ethical AI, including cases from the field and possible ways
forward. Each team will receive a Northrop Grumman mentor, who can provide
insight into your idea.
* DEVELOP * a proposal to show how a current AI/ML implementation could be

INTRODUCTION
The theme for this semester’s student challenge is ethical principles in
artificial intelligence and machine learning. The challenge objective for
this semester is to research various ethical dilemmas surrounding current
popular AI/ML implementations and then create a proposal to show how a
current AI/ML implementation could be made more ethical, following the DOD
DIB AI principles. Students will submit a 5-10-minute PowerPoint presentation
showing their team’s proposed changes to a current AI/ML model.
