Peer Career Educator (multiple openings)
Department:  University Career Center & The President’s Promise

Responsibilities & Benefits
As a Peer Career Educator (PCE) you will gain transferable skills
in peer leadership, customer service and employer relations that 
will help launch your career after college.  Strong interpersonal 
skills and the desire to help others are a must.  PCEs provide 
peer-to-peer advice; support the Center’s counseling staff; and 
assist students, parents, and employers who visit the Center’s 
Resource Room.  Additionally, you will receive ongoing professional 
development that will assist you in your own career planning.

Duties
·         Advise fellow students through peer-to-peer resume critiquing 
sessions
·         Assist students with online and printed resources in the 
Resource Room
·         Maintain organization of the Resource Room and its materials
·         Write monthly book reviews
·         Act as an ambassador for the University Career Center & The 
President’s Promise with employers, students, faculty, parents and 
guests at events throughout the year
·         Assist Center staff with research and projects
·         Attend weekly Peer Career Educator team meetings
·         Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications
·         Federal Work-Study
·         Desire to help peers and demonstrated experience working 
with diverse student populations
·         Strong interpersonal skills, customer service skills, and the 
ability to multi-task
·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team
·         Familiarity with University Career Center & The President’s 
Promise resources
·         Preference for applicants who have participated in one or 
more of The President’s Promise experiences
