To Whom This May Concern: Hello, this is SCORE (the Student Community for Outreach, Retention and Excellence), a student organization dedicated to helping undergraduate minority students at the University of Maryland, not only in terms of their grades, but in terms of application of their knowledge to the outside world in terms of academics, research, and future jobs. Our organization strives to inform the student community community of activities and events that encourage student involvement and increase awareness of the various opportunities available to them on campus. Every year, SCORE organizes established programs and works hard to implement new ones. We are looking to hold an event on November 26th titled "How To Be Successful In STEM". Part of the event is a panel that students can utilize by asking questions about how the panelists were able to find their niche on campus and successfully make their way through college. We were hoping you could spread this event throughout your organization, to STEM majors or anyone interested. If you have alumni that you believe would be helpful/informative, it would be greatly appreciated as well if you could give us their contact information. We hope to make it an event that everyone can benefit from, not only in terms of obtaining ideas for their time left at UMD, but also just for advice, in terms of grad school, research and even medical school, for those interested. The event would be *Tuesday, November 6th at 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM in Room 1111 in the Kim Engineering Building.* Of course,* food will be provided* and there will be some fun. Hope to see you there!
