Subject: Interested in Microbial Diseases, Epidemiology, and Disease Prevention? Enroll in BSCI 348M this Summer! Description: Are you interested in medicine, public health, or the allied health fields? Want to learn more about bacterial and viral pathogens and how they cause disease in human and animal hosts? Looking to earn credits toward your degree without even having to leave your home? Consider enrolling for BSCI 348M: Epidemiology of Microbial Pathogens, which will take place during Summer Session I. This fully online, accelerated (three-week) course will use a variety of approaches (e.g., video lectures, case studies, popular media/online discussion) to introduce students to the field of epidemiology and engage them in applying that knowledge to the study of viral and bacterial agents that cause disease in their community and beyond. Throughout the course, students will also have an opportunity to research and explore diseases of personal interest to them and will expand their knowledge of those diseases through interaction with other classmates. This course is acceptable for students in the MICB and GENB biological sciences areas.
