Subject: 2016 SESYNC Undergraduate Summer Internship Program Description: The National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC) is now accepting applications for faculty mentors and undergraduate interns for the 2016 SESYNC Undergraduate Summer Internship Program. The goals of the program are to: § Provide students with a research or work experience that contributes towards the research or program goals of the mentors. § Enhance student understanding of the complex nature of socially relevant environmental problems. § Introduce students to research approaches, particularly the synthesis approach, used to address socio-environmental problems. § Enhance student understanding of how scientific evidence may be used to inform decision making and policy with regard to environmental problems. Internship positions are full-time (40 hours/week) from June 6–August 12, 2016. Interns will be paid $11/hour by SESYNC.
