Subject: Biomedical Research Opportunity at the DC VA Medical Center Description: We are looking for highly motivated research interns interested in conducting biomedical research over the next semester (credits will be offered). Students pursuing a degree in biology, chemistry, or other relevant field and are intending on entering a graduate education program such as medical school are preferred. This position is at the Calcium Signaling Laboratory, Institute for Clinical Research (ICR) at DC VA Medical Center, Washington DC (NIH funded studies). Research will be focused on the molecular candidates that govern the regulation of calcium and their contribution to the mechanisms of kidney stone formation. Candidates will have an opportunity to aid in in vitro studies and possibly animal studies as well. Motivated individuals who make significant contribution will also have the opportunity to co-author scientific papers.
