Subject: May 16 info session: MS in Medical Physics Description: I would like to invite you and your students to visit Jefferson’s campus in center city Philadelphia to learn more about the Master of Science degree in Medical Physics. Join us on Tuesday, May 16 at 5 p.m. in the Edison Building, 130 South 9th Street, Suite 100, Philadelphia. Please register to attend by contacting David Wood in our admissions office: [log in to unmask] or 215-503-9847. The MS in Medical Physics is developed for people with a bachelor’s degree in physics who want to work as medical physicists in hospitals, clinics or medical schools. Jefferson offers the only program in the Philadelphia region that offers training on the two largest suppliers of linear accelerators in the United States and the latest versions of their associated treatment planning software. Our didactic courses and labs are complemented with extensive clinical experience that solidifies the practice of Medical Physics. The program is designed to meet criteria for full accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs (CAMPEP). Graduating from a CAMPEP master’s program in Medical Physics offers students the opportunity to enter a two-year medical physics residency. Completion of an advanced degree from a CAMPEP accredited medical physics program and completion of a residency are current requirements for certification by the American Board of Radiology. I hope to meet you and your students at the May 16 info session! In the meantime, you can learn more about the program here. http://jeffersonhospital.us1.list-manage2.com/track/click?u=6999352295e26717deeaa9712&id=ac90daac02&e=8a9f843829 James Keller, PhD MS in Medical Physics Program Director Medical Physicist, Clinical Instructor Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Bodine Center for Cancer Treatment Phone: 215-955-7969 Email: [log in to unmask] Contact Person: David Wood Contact Email: [log in to unmask]
