Subject: Health Inequities Open Mic Night Description: United Against Inequities in Disease (UAID) invites you to an open mic night that is dedicated to providing an accepting environment for people to discuss health inequities that they have experienced in their lives or communities. Health inequities are unjust differences in healthcare resources between groups of people that lead to dramatically reduced health outcomes such as elevated chronic disease and addiction rates. As America’s future, it is our responsibility to understand these problems so that we can address them as professionals and make life better for all. The first step is to understand the problem, and an act as simple as sharing a song about your experience can inspire someone to make a difference. This is why we welcome you to prepare songs, dances, skits, poems, or anecdotes that you can share about this topic. Please contact Steven at the email provided to sign up to perform or volunteer at the open mic night.
