Subject: Registration now for the Public Health Research at Maryland conference! Description: Registration is open for our eighth annual Public Health Research at Maryland conference! You can attend one or more of the sessions focused on timely issues related to strengthening public health, combatting health misinformation, and learning from the challenges of 2020 to improve health and promote equity. The opening session features a conversation between University System of Maryland leaders, including President Pines, Chancellor Jay Perman and others, moderated by SPH Dean Boris Lushniak and focused on their vision for leadership in the context of COVID-19, structural racism, economic challenges and climate change. We’re honored to have noted epidemiologist, Dr. David Michaels, as this year’s keynote speaker. His address is titled, “Science and Policy to Support Healthy People 2030: The Imperative to Rebuild and Reimagine Our Public Health Infrastructure.” (https://sites.google.com/umd.edu/phrm-2021/keynote) Researchers from all disciplines are invited to share their research for the poster session, student presented research will be judged and prizes awarded. We've greatly benefited from the participation of all of the UMD schools and colleges in the past and would love to see you all represented again this year!
