Professor / Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering (systems biology)

We are announcing a faculty position in systems biology at the Department of Chemical Engineering at NTNU in Trondheim. See:
http://www.chemeng.ntnu.no/eng/systembiologi.html

As part of a interdisciplinary priority area in Systems biology, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) announces two vacant positions in systems biology at the Departments of Biology and Chemical Engineering, respectively. In addition, a third position at the Department of Biotechnology will be announced later. The faculty are expected to take an active part in the development of systems biology at NTNU.

The position in chemical engineering has special responsibility for teaching and research in the area of systems biology and its applications to chemical process engineering. Important areas are development and analysis of genetic, metabolic and regulatory network models for understanding biological functions from a systems point of view, i.e., to explain how interactions and feedback in complex dynamic networks imply function. The assessment will also emphasize qualifications in modelling, identification, control and analysis of complex dynamic systems.

Application deadline: 01 Dec. 2006.
