INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ADVANCES IN GLOBAL OPTIMIZATION: Methods and Applications Royal Myconian Imperial Hotel MYCONOS, GREECE JUNE 13-17, 2007 http://www.ise.ufl.edu/cao/ago2007/ The Fifth International Conference on Advances in Global Optimization: Methods and Applications will take place during June 13-17, 2007 in Myconos, Greece. The four previous conferences on “Recent Advances in Global Optimization", “State-of-the-Art in Global Optimization", “Optimization in Computational Chemistry and Molecular Biology: Local and Global Approaches", and “Frontiers In Global Optimization” took place at Princeton University in 1991, 1995, 1999, and in Santorini, Greece in 2003, respectively. Conference Goals Bring together the most active researchers in theory, algorithms and applications of global optimization. Exchange ideas across discipline boundaries of applied mathematics, computer science, engineering, computational biology and chemistry, molecular biology, medicine, and bioinformatics. Main Conference Themes Conference topics include advances in: • Deterministic methods for global optimization • Stochastic methods for global optimization • Distributed computing methods in global optimization • Applications of global optimization in all branches of applied science and engineering, computer science, computational biology and chemistry, structural biology, medicine, and bioinformatics Important Deadlines December 15, 2006: Submission of Abstracts by email to both organizers at: [log in to unmask] [log in to unmask] January 15, 2007: Notification of Acceptance February 15, 2007: Hotel Registration (Early Registration is strongly recommended) February 15, 2007: Conference Registration March 30, 2007: Submission of manuscripts by email to one of the organizers. Early submissions are encouraged. Decisions will be promptly communicated to the authors by e-mail or FAX. Publications Submitted manuscripts will be regularly refereed and all accepted manuscripts will be published in one volume in the Springer Series in Optimization and Its Applications. In addition, a collection of manuscripts will be published in special issues of the Journal of Global Optimization. Conference Format The conference will feature: • Welcome Reception on Tuesday Evening (June 12, 2007), • Presentations on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (8:00am-2:00pm) • Afternoon tour of Delos Island (June 15, 2007), and • Gala dinner on Saturday evening (June 16, 2007). The registration fee (€400) for participants and students will cover: welcome reception, all coffee breaks, abstract book, and Gala dinner.
