Keywords: education ---- ProSensus is offering a 3-day multivariate data course, starting 25 September 2007. All the details can be found here: http://www.prosensus.ca/courses ProSensus has run this course several times in the past, and participants have found it an excellent way to obtain a working knowledge of multivariate methods. The course will introduce and go into details about PCA and PLS modeling, and how to solve industrial problems, such as -- learning from your data to improve process understanding (data mining) -- building, using and interpreting multivariate models for: - monitoring process performance and diagnosing problems; - predictive models (soft-sensors) and classifiers; -- a session dedicated to batch processes: learn how to optimize batch strategies, monitor batches for early fault detection, and achieve tighter control of final product properties. Examples are taken from a wide variety of industrial processes, such as pharmaceutical, petrochemical, materials, and consumer products. Computer software from major vendors will be used, and participants are encouraged to bring their own data for use in the interactive sessions. Participants receive a binder with all slides printed in colour, and a CD with all slides as PDF's, and Excel data sets. Location: Burlington-on-the-Lake Travelodge, Burlington, ON (near Buffalo and Toronto airports) Dates: 25 to 27 September 2007 (Tues-Thurs) Cost: C$ 1950 per participant (about U$1860), and sales tax of 6% is extra. Discounts of $200/person are applied for groups of 2 or more.
