FOCAPO 2008 (Foundations of Computer-Aided Process Operations) is the
5th international conference offered by the CACHE organization to review the
advances and address the challenges of process operations. It will take
place at the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge, MA between June 29th and July 2nd.
There are a number of exciting invited speakers for the sessions to be held
Monday to Wednesday, in addition to William Pulleybank from IBM being the
Keynote speaker on Sunday evening. The sessions cover: Integration of
Control, Scheduling, and Planning; Enterprise-Wide Optimization; Modeling,
Optimization, and Information Technologies; Forecasting, Finance, and Risk
Management; Sustainable Resource Systems; and Emerging Technologies.

A major part of the conference is the session of Contributed Papers.
In the context of the theme of the conference "Multi-Scale Integration of
R&D, Manufacturing, and Optimization for Enterprise-Wide Operations" we are
seeking papers that cover the traditional process operations areas in
addition to areas that may not have been focused on at previous FOCAPO
conferences. These non-traditional areas might include energy, multiscale
modeling, systems biology, nano-applications, etc.

Abstracts of no longer than 500 words are being accepted until October 15, 2007.

For more details on the conference and how to submit a contributed paper
abstract see FOCAPO.org.
