A postdoctoral position is available immediately at the Chemical Engineering Department, University of Delaware, under the supervision of Professor Babatunde Ogunnaike, on a recently established joint research program with Corning, Inc.  The successful candidate will be engaged in the development of novel techniques for effective anticipatory control of product quality for industrial processes. The project involves both theoretical and industrial experimental work to be carried out in collaboration with scientists and control/process engineers at Corning. While the successful candidate will be physically located in Colburn Lab at the University of Delaware, the scope of the work includes some travel to Corning R & D headquarters in Corning, N.Y.  (For more information about the company, please visit www.corning.com).

 

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering (or related area), with expertise in chemical process dynamics, modeling, and control; familiarity with statistical data analysis is beneficial but not compulsory. Compensation will depend on qualification and experience.
