post-doctoral fellow to develop dynamic simulation models and control
strategies for advanced integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC)
power plants. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with
researchers at the Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology
Laboratory (NETL) in Morgantown. This appointment will be effective
January 1, 2008.

or other similar process simulation software.
 Understanding of the thermodynamics and kinetics of key unit
operations that are the building blocks of advanced, coal-
fired energy systems e.g. fluidized bed gasifiers and combustion
 Understanding and experience in developing and implementing
strategies for the control of process plants.
 Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing as
demonstrated, for example, by publications in peer-
