General Position Description:

The successful candidate is expected to lead the development and application of mathematical models which are required to develop innovative new processes and improve innovation productivity. The initial emphasis will be on the development of multipurpose process model libraries and systems modeling frameworks to support process development.

Job Responsibilities: Projects typically involve modeling of new and existing processes for process development.   The individual must be able to work with a team to define the model requirements, develop the equations which govern a given phenomena, implement these equations in an equation oriented simulation environment, verify the model implementation, and validate the model stand alone and in a systems context.   The individual must be able to use mathematical optimization techniques to solve product and process design problems.

A Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in a process systems modeling is required.  A detailed understanding of chemical engineering science, mathematical modeling, mathematical optimization, and model validation is also required.  Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
