*Internship Opportunity at Peace Corps * *50**th** Anniversary Digital Library Project* Peace Corps is developing a digital library of historical materials to honor its 50th Anniversary in 2011. The digital library will include stories and photos from Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) as well as agency-produced documents, photos and multimedia clips. The digital library project, located in the Office of Communications, seeks an intern to assist with: - Reviewing incoming online submissions from RPCVs to ensure that they comply with our collection policy - Cataloging materials in all formats using the ContentDM administrative module - Selecting and scanning materials for inclusion in the digital library (may involve some work on-site at the National Archives in College Park) - Outreach efforts to promote the digital library - End user training for agency staff - Development of project documentation, training guides, etc… *Required Skills:* - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Conscientious and attentive to detail - Able to work independently with ongoing guidance and oversight - Understanding of cataloging principles and standard practices *Additional Desired Skills:* - Interest in international development and the service-oriented mission of the Peace Corps - Some experience with archival research/archives policies and procedures This is an unpaid internship, with flexible hours, available beginning January 2009. Peace Corps is located in downtown DC, convenient to the Farragut metro stations (red, blue and orange lines).
