A Capital Celebration: SLA @ 100 - Reception with Guy St. Clair 
                                                                                           
The Washington, DC, chapter of SLA is kicking off the SLA Centennial celebration with a
reception sponsored by Dow Jones.  This signature event held at the National Geographic Society
will start the year-long celebration in style!                                                                                                         
                                                                                              
Our featured speaker will be Guy St. Clair, author of SLA's commemorative history, SLA at 100:
From Putting Knowledge to Work to Building the Knowledge Culture
. Mr. St. Clair will speak to 
members about what he learned in writing the book, share some of the association's historical 
highlights, and describe how these first one hundred years have been, as he puts it, "just    
prelude, a lead-in to our association's true greatness to come."  Guy St. Clair is well known 
to SLA members as Mr. Knowledge Services, as SLA President in the early 1990's, and as a    
consulting specialist for knowledge services at SMR International.
 
Also plan on spending some time during the evening examining the Centennial Showcasea 3-dimensional,
140+ item display celebrating SLA's 100-year history.
