Postdoctoral Position at the MIT Energy Initiative

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology Energy Initiative (MITEI) is
seeking a postdoctoral researcher for the simulation of energy conversion
processes. This process-simulation-intensive research position will be
responsible for model development, software interfacing and complex
process configuration and analysis. The model development research is
focused on IGCC and Polygeneration using Aspen Plus for conversion of
carbonaceous materials to electricity, liquid fuels and chemicals. The
software interfacing work will combine stochastic modeling methods using
Bayesian uncertainty analysis tools with deterministic flowsheet modeling
(Aspen Plus) and cost estimation modeling (ICARUS). In this research
program, multiple configurations of IGCC and Polygeneration flowsheets
will be built and analyzed. The postdoctoral research will work with
Professors and PhD candidates across 5 research teams. This is an
excellent opportunity for a postdoctoral candidate looking for an
exceptional multi-disciplinary experience.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and at least two
years of experience using Aspen Plus.
