Postdoctoral Research Associate Position in Process Design for Energy
Efficiency

The Centre for Process Systems Engineering (CPSE), Department of
Chemical Engineering, University College London (UCL) is seeking an
outstanding Post-Doctoral Research Associate for an exciting and EPSRC
funded project on Design Toolbox for Energy Efficiency in the Process
Industry. The project is in collaboration with CPSE, Imperial College
London and will involve three more researchers, providing a stimulating
and interactive environment for research. The project aims to develop
novel process synthesis and design methodologies and integrate these
methodologies within a toolbox so as to aid process industries for
improving energy efficiency of their processes. The key aspects of the
project are integration of process systems with heat & power systems
and analysing their complex interaction with the environment.
The candidate should have a PhD in Engineering, Mathematics or Operations
Research, or equivalent, and a good understanding of
mathematical/computational model-based techniques for optimization.
Experience in using computational softwares such as GAMS, gPROMS and
MATLAB or equivalent modelling and optimization tools is preferred.
The appointment is on UCL Grade 7 with starting salary range of GBP28,839
per annum to GBP31,513 per annum (plus GBP2,781 per annum London
Allowance). The post is for 18 months and is available immediately.
