Dear iSchool students, We are conducting an experiment that evaluates an advanced information seeking system. We will investigate in how well the system support visual searches with several different types of search capabilities embedded in software developed by our laboratory. In order to participate in the study, you must be over the age of 18, and must have good computer skills and experience. The entire experiment will be run using novel computer software, so familiarity and experience with PC or Macintosh computers is required. The study will last approximately three and a half hours in one day. You will be asked to read over and sign a consent document, undergo a basic tutorial on the software you will be using, then solve two sets of problems requiring a visual search using the tools provided by the software. There will be a break between the two problem sets. Participants who complete the study will be paid at least $35, but may receive up to $60, based on their performance (specifically, speed and accuracy) throughout the experiment. If you are interested, please contact Max Thomas ([log in to unmask]), and please let us know if you prefer weekend sessions or weekday sessions. Thank you and all the best, -Yan --- Yan Qu , Ph.D .
