Pew Research Center Knowledge Management Specialist:

The Knowledge Management Specialist is a new position in the Pew
Research Center’s Core department, created to develop and maintain a
knowledge management system that will bridge the seven research areas
and the core administration department.

The successful candidate is a 21st century librarian grounded in
traditional research tools and savvy about new technologies. This
individual will have responsibilities in two key areas: 1) information
management to support multi-channel distribution and 2) resource
management to support internal clients. In particular, this individual
will play a key role in supporting the Center’s external dissemination
to syndication and aggregation partners by creating and implementing
taxonomies; establishing standards for maintaining digital assets;
helping build and maintain relationships with syndication partners;
and assisting in leveraging taxonomies and metadata to improve website
search. In addition, this individual will play a key role in archiving
reports, publications, and internal documents and providing tools and
services to support Pew Research Center analysts by maintaining
subscriptions; investigating new research resources; troubleshooting
and training on electronic resources; and locating materials and
skills training from academic libraries and other sources as required.

Required Education/Experience: M.L.S. from ALA-accredited library
science program and five or more years of experience working in a
special library environment. This position reports to the
Communications Director.
