Two postdoctoral positions are currently available in the Process Systems Engineering Laboratory at MIT as part of the Novartis-MIT Center for Continuous Manufacturing. The successful candidates will perform research on modeling, design, optimization and control of continuous pharmaceutical manufacturing. Activities will be split between: a) modeling, design, optimization and control of a pilot continuous pharmaceutical manufacturing facility being constructed at MIT, b) fundamental process systems engineering research related to continuous pharmaceutical manufacturing. The two positions will focus on the upstream and downstream parts of the process, respectively. The project is sponsored by a major international corporation and the candidate's responsibilities will include frequent interaction with and reporting to the sponsor. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering (or related area) with expertise in process systems engineering. Interested applicants should send a detailed curriculum vitae and a list of at least three referees to: Paul I. Barton Lammot du Pont Professor Process Systems Engineering Laboratory Department of Chemical Engineering Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 66-464 77 Massachusetts Avenue Cambridge MA 02139 U.S.A.
