LOCAL SUMMER INTERNSHIP: Library

ATTENTION UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND STUDENTS:

TESST College of Technology, Beltsville Campus, seeks a college level intern (Library Science, English Literature, Education, Social Science, Information Technology etc.) to assist in the campus LRC (Learning Resource Center / Library) under the direction of Student Services.  This position has the possibility of payment. 

We are looking for a daytime intern from 8:30 / 9 am to 5 pm and/or we will try to work with your college schedule.  M-F.  (June, July, August).

LRC / Library Responsibilities Include:

·        Overseeing the LRC / Library Operations and Desk.

·        Online Library via http://libsys.uah.edu/kaplan/  to assist students gain access to electronic books / articles/.

• Ordering books / media.
• Cataloging Books.
• Book Checkout.
• Assisting campus Instructors / Students with Library Training.
• Updating Bulletin boards (Part-time job board, community board, resume board, etc).
• Updating Student Services Boards and Campus Stopping Stations.
• Updating Internet sites by program in LRC / Library.
• Assisting students to find resources on how to acquire free information.
• Ordering periodicals as needed.
• General organization of LRC / Library
• Presenting the library during an orientation session with new students.
• Making the library user friendly.
• Attending trainings as needed.

·        Quarterly Campus Newsletter.

·        New Student Orientation.

·        Updating Campus Events via media / TV.

·        Kaplan Quad Update Student Announcements.

·        Student Event Calendar.
