How Librarians Represent Their Cultures Abroad
The Event

This year’s celebration of International Special Librarians Day will feature three librarians who represent their home cultures abroad through librarianship.  Nadia Pazolis-Gabriel, a French librarian at Alliance Francaise in Washington, D.C., will discuss how she serves French library interests of French speakers in the US.  Barbara Conaty will share a discussion of her work with the State Department’s American Corners Program and how she makes a piece of American Culture available overseas.  Finally, Mohammed Eliwa, the founder of Arabia Inform, will chat about his pioneering work as the premiere indexer in the Middle East.
