Editorial Projects in Education, publisher of Education Week newspaper, has an opening for an intern to work with the EPE news library and Knowledge Services department. This is 15-20 hours per week position and pays $12.00/hour. The internship will begin as soon as possible. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic not-for-profit organization and gain focused, supportive training and professional experience in the field of special and news librarianship. Working closely with the EPE library and knowledge services, the intern will participate in providing information services to support the reporting, research, and development activities of an energetic and dedicated staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide daily research and reference support for staff
Respond to reference requests from outside clients via email and telephone
Perform book and serial cataloging, check-in and light shelving of materials in the library
Respond to requests to reprint EPE content
Assist with creating digital publications to leverage existing content around specific education topics
Create and update web pages for both Knowledge Services and the library
Use web analytics software to understand reader behavior online
Conduct background research on potential funders
Provide research and data support for grant proposals and reporting
Other special projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
Background or interest in library science or education
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal)
