2011 Summer Program at the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology CBCB offers a summer program to give you hands-on research experience in bioinformatics as part of ongoing research projects within the center. The program involves full-time research (40 hours / week). During the first week you will get to choose from among several of the projects selected by the faculty mentors - this will be your primary project for the summer. You will also get to meet the graduate students in the Center that work on related projects. They will help co-mentor you throughout the duration of your project. The program will run from May to August, and exact start and end dates are flexible. Wages will be approximately $10 / hour for undergraduates. In addition to research, we have also planned a series of informational seminars to introduce you to various aspects of bioinformatics. The program is open to undergraduates (including following their senior year), as well as exceptional high-school students. You do not need to be a University of Maryland student to apply, and applications from students at other universities are encouraged.
