The sisters of Sigma Psi Zeta would like to invite you to join us at our 2nd annual SPEAK charity dinner on April 14, 2011 from 7:00-9:00pm in the Colony Ballroom at Stamp Student Union. As many of you know, April is Sexual Assault Awareness month and we would like to take this opportunity to speak out against the prevalent issues of sexual assault and domestic violence. We hope that you will join us in bringing the University of Maryland community together to learn more about the violent issues affecting countless women here in the US and abroad. During our dinner, we will be featuring many talented guest performances and a very special guest-Christina Lagdameo who is the Deputy Director of the White House Initiative on Asian American Pacific Islanders. All of the proceeds from our charity dinner will be donated to Odanadi, which is an up and coming social organization based in South India that works personally with human trafficking and domestic violence victims in hopes of rescuing, rehabilitating, empowering and reintegrating them back to safety and independence. To learn more about Odanadi, visit: http://odanadi-us.org/ We hope that you will be able to join us in combating domestic violence through the spread of knowledge amongst our community and beyond. Dinner will be served, semi-formal attire is requested. Tickets will be sold for $10 presale and $12 at the door.
