An undergraduate laboratory assistant position is available in the
laboratory of Dr. Gary D. Coleman to assist in plant tissue culture. Work
responsibilities would be associated with micropropagation, cell suspension
culture,  media preparation, plant inventory and plant disposal/clean-up.

Qualifications: Previous experience working in a laboratory setting is
preferred however it is not absolutely necessary. Applicants who have tissue
culture experience or have experience in aseptic (sterile) techniques are
well suited for this position. The successful candidate must be dedicated,
responsible, punctual and organized. A weekly commitment of 8-10 hours is
desired. Ideally, time blocks of 3-4 hours are needed for media preparation,
tissue culture, and sterilization.

The position is available immediately and individuals who are available to
work during the summer are preferred.
