My name is Annie Shomberg. I also work closely with the SEED School of Washington D.C., http://www.seedfoundation.com/index.php/seed-schools/washington-dc and the Internation Neuroscience Netowrk Foundation. Through my work with INNF I am trying to put together a panel of college students who are in science fields to speak to high school students at SEED. My goal is to encourage students at the SEED School to pursue careers in science, math, and engineering fields. I am hoping to put together a panel that can talk to the students about possible majors they can pursue as well as what career paths these majors could lead to. I would also like the speakers to talk about their experiences majoring in science, math, and engineering. Could you forward this email to any students that you feel would be good representations of the college, can relate to students at the SEED School of Washington D.C., and have been ambitious in their studies. The best way for possible speakers to contact me would be at my email adress [log in to unmask] When emailing me speakers should include a brief explination of why they would be a good person to speak to high school students about the successes and struggles of pursuing a career in math, science, or engineering in the 21st century. The event will take place on the evening of May 18th from 6-8pm. Transportation and dinner will be provided. There will be an information session on May 10th or 11th for selected speakers(based on speaker availability). Unforunantely only a few speakers can attend the event due to space and time restrictions. Speakers will be selected based on the interests that students at SEED have shown as well as the selected majors of graduating seniors from SEED. Thank you in advanced for your help.
