The developer codes programs using Cold Fusion, JavaScript, and DB2 database using Object Oriented methodologies on Windows and Unix platforms, following application design documents and guidelines by other team members. Skills Requirements Experience writing code in SQL, Cold Fusion, JavaScript, and HTML; be able to show examples of programming work. Must be capable of developing web applications using Cold Fusion 8/9 with a DB2 backend following the software development lifecycle. Must have demonstrated ability in SQL, XML, CSS, XSLT, ColdFusion, and JavaScript. Must have demonstrated ability in Object Oriented methodologies and JavaScript. Very strong SQL skills including experience writing complicated SQL statements involving more than three tables and stored procedures in DB2. Experience with writing and using ColdFusion components and Object Oriented programming methodologies. Ability to communicate with technical team as well as non-technical clients. Ability to follow existing file-management and application development protocols. Ability to follow instructions and respond to management and team direction quickly. Java Positions Our client is seeking a Java Software Engineer for a 6+ month contract to assist with the development and deployment of a breakthrough requirement for our valued wireless carrier customer. This custom application will ultimately help enterprise customers eliminate the use of pagers and integrate their current legacy systems by providing a conversion mechanism for SMS text messages to replace paging. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Sciences or related field. * 5+ years of application development required. * Thorough knowledge of UNIX, JAVA, and XML are required. * Middleware and class library experience is essential for this role. * Knowledge of telecommunications and wireless paging protocols (TAP, TNPP, SNPP, WCTP) is highly desired. * Experience with networking and UNIX sockets is a plus. * Experience with Oracle is important. * Strong communication skills are a must.
