The Society for Chemical Hazard Communication (SCHC) is a professional society committed to serving chemical hazard communication professionals and to promoting knowledge and awareness in all areas of chemical hazard communication. Areas covered include worker safety, domestic and international regulatory compliance, toxicology and other chemical and physical hazards, environmental toxicology, risk analysis, etc. Members are professionals who represent industrial, consumer, and specialty chemical companies, pharmaceutical firms, manufacturers, distributors and importers, government agencies, universities and consultants. The Society meets semi-annually with the fall meeting always in Crystal City, VA (just outside Washington DC). The meeting this year will be Tuesday – Wednesday, October 4-5. As part of our outreach effort to inform students about Hazard Communication as a profession, we are offering free attendance to our fall meeting to a limited number of students. Applicants should be working toward degrees in science or engineering and an interest in chemical safety.
