Program Assistant (P/T long term temporary)

The Foundation Center is the nation’s leading authority on philanthropy and is dedicated to serving grantseekers, grantmakers, researchers, policymakers, the media, and the general public.  Its organizational mission is to strengthen the nonprofit sector by advancing knowledge about philanthropy.

Program Assistant reports to the Associates Program Manager and Senior Librarian

Seeking individual with strong customer service and research skills to work with the Foundation Center’s fee-based Associates Program members and to assist onsite library users.  Individual must be detail oriented, comfortable multi-tasking, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and be able to work in a sometimes demanding, unpredictable small office environment.

REQUIREMENTS: BA/BS degree.  Must be knowledgeable about computer networks and applications, and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook). Experience with database searching preferred.  Customer service, library and/or fundraising experience in a nonprofit environment desirable.

Schedule: Flexible. Must be able to work 20 hours per week (Monday-Friday) between the hours of 9:00am – 5:00pm and Tuesday evenings until 8:00pm.
