2012 AIChE Annual Meeting

In Pittsburgh, the City of Bridges, the AIChE Annual Meeting is focused on building Chemical Engineering bridges to Cleaner Energy, a Stronger Economy, and Better Living.  This year’s conference develops this theme by bringing together more than 5000 chemical engineering professionals and the process and energy industries, universities, and government to explore the impact of chemical engineers and chemical engineering technologies on topics spanning energy and the environment.

The plenary session on Monday, October 29 features key representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy, EQT Corporation, Bayer Corporation, and Westinghouse.  Topics include CO2 Capture, Utilization and Storage, and Natural Gas/Oil Recovery, North American Manufacturing and Shale Gas, Chemistry & Energy: Fortifying Our Historic Links, and Nuclear Energy, the Future after Fukushima.
