The physics education research group at University of Maryland, College Park is seeking 2-3 undergraduate science majors to help us with data management, transcription, and videotaping. The job requires a commitment of 8-10 hours per week. However, the position has significant flexibility in work schedule. These positions are available immediately. Based on quality of work, this position can continue at least throughout the rest of the academic year. Employees will likely be paid about $10/hr. Job Title: Undergraduate Data Management Assistant Job Description: The applicant needs to be reliable, well-organized, and detail-oriented. Strong typing skills are necessary for the video transcription work involved. The specific job responsibilities include: - Scan documents of student course work and upload to a secure server - Maintain a record of documents uploaded on the wiki database - Transform handwritten student work and student feedback into a typed format - Transcribe talk from video recordings of interviews and classroom discussions - Upload video files from cameras to a secure server twice a week and delete uploaded files from camera memory - Maintain a record of the video file names on our wiki database Job Title: Undergraduate Videographer Job Description: The applicant needs to be reliable, punctual and well-organized.
