Internships are a key strategy in the Electronic Systems (ES) Sector college recruiting program. This full-time, paid internship enables you to gain hands-on experience contributing to creative solutions and services that supports our customer needs while collaborating with experienced professionals in Library Research, Reference, Collection Development, and Electronic Subscriptions. This internship is located in Linthicum, MD at Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems and may include the following work assignments: Competitive/business intelligence; applied data science, including data analytics, research and statistical methods, data curation, data visualization; and development of tools to help employees use library services and resources. Help identify data problems and how data science can transform insight into action. Apply current data science methodology. Manipulate large quantities of data, and use graphics to re-represent the data in various ways based on certain aspects of the data, such as author affiliation, subjects, etc. Demonstrated leadership skills, excellent communication and analytical skills, proven teaming abilities. Facility near BWI/Marc train station. Basic Qualifications: Must be actively enrolled in an accredited Master's degree program in Library & Information Science or related field. Must have at least 3.2/4.0 overall GPA. Must be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for 10 -12 weeks during the summer of 2013. US Citizenship required for this position. Preferred Qualifications: Actively enrolled in an accredited Master's degree program in Library & Information Science.
